PLEASE DON’T GO TO HELL!

Please don’t go to hell.  You don’t have to.  God has prepared a way for you not only to escape hell but instead to spend all of eternity in the presence of God in heaven.  In fact, Jesus went ahead of us to prepare places for us.  In John 14:1-2 (NIV) Jesus states: “Do not let your hearts be troubled.  Trust in God; trust also in me.  In my Father’s house are many rooms; if it were not so, I would have told you.  I am going there to prepare a place for you.”

A former student of mine related a conversation she had had with a young man in the mall.  He had made suggestive comments to her, and when she rebuffed his advances, he said, “Go to hell.”  I have been blessed for years by her reply.  She simply said, “I can’t.”  She knew that she had accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior, and because she had done that, she was secure forever.  The creator of the universe is not about to lose someone he has rescued.  In John 10:27-28 (NIV) Jesus states:  “My sheep listen to my voice; I know them, and they follow me.  I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; no one can snatch them out of my hand.”  For more assurance read on to verse 29.  “My Father, who has given them to me, is greater than all; no one can snatch them out of my Father’s hand.  I and the Father are one.”

I know that as surely as the Sun comes up tomorrow I will spend eternity with Jesus.  I have friends and relatives who have died, but I know I will see them again because I know they had accepted Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior.  I know that I will have eternal fellowship with many of my friends of today.  Whether you and I will have fellowship after we leave this life depends entirely upon whether you accept Jesus as your Lord and Savior.

If I have never met you, please give me the opportunity to get to know you in eternity.  If you choose to go to hell, I will never meet you, but if you accept Jesus as Lord and Savior, we will have opportunity to become acquainted in eternity.

There is no way that anyone can be “good” enough to earn his way to heaven.  We earn wages, but they may not be what we wish because Romans 6:23 (NIV) says, “The wages of sin is death….”  We can all accept a gift, however.  Please do accept the gift of eternal life.  Romans 6:23 continues, “….but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.”

You may, indeed, reject everything said in this devotional, but remember, it is your decision.  Please join me in heaven with Jesus!
